Bluemont Summer Concert Series

7:30 p.m. Friday evenings at the Old Frederick County Courthouse in downtown historic Winchester, VA

Since 1976, the Bluemont Concert Series has presented more than 5,000 high-quality events to a combined audience of more than 2 million in 68 communities in northwest and central Virginia. With steady growth, Bluemont has become a major public-private coalition of communities in the region.

We are a private, nonprofit corporation governed by a volunteer board of directors, managed by a small but efficient professional staff, and supported by a coalition of 20 local jurisdictions, 350 businesses and civic organizations, and more than 2,500 families, friends, and neighbors.

Throughout the year, Bluemont presents a wide variety of community events such as school concerts, workshops and assemblies; performances in hospitals and nursing homes; public concerts on the green; oldtime country dances, and special events around the region. These wonderful and affordable events have become part of the fabric of community life in communities throughout Virginia.

$5 per person, $4 Bluemont Friends & Seniors, $2 kids under 12
There are no advance ticket sales; tickets available at concert.

Winchester, VA 22601:

  • From the Washington Beltway, take I-66 West to I-81 (70 miles);
  • Take I-81 North to the Route 7 West exit (c. 20 miles, the 3rd Winchester exit;
  • At the bottom of the exit, turn right onto Route 7 West and cross over I-81 toward Winchester
    Note: This road changes its name to Berryville Avenue, then to National Avenue, dog-legs and becomes Piccadilly Street as you enter Old Town Winchester.
  • Proceed two miles to N. Braddock Street (note the 8′ Red Apple).
  • Turn left on N. Braddock Street, go two lights
  • Turn left on W. Boscawen Street, go two blocks
  • Turn left on N. Cameron Street; go to first possible left
  • Turn left onto Rouss Avenue just after City Hall; Rouss Avenue is one block long and dead-ends at the back of the Old Winchester Courthouse.

Note: Parking is available at the Braddock Street Parking Garage for a fee; the garage on your left after you turn left onto N. Braddock Street.

We prefer to hold Bluemont concerts outside if possible. Summer weather can change quickly and is sometimes hard to predict. Always go to the outdoor concert site first; if the concert has moved, proceed to the nearby indoor site. Decision to move indoors will be posted at site and broadcast over local radio stations.

Historic Winchester and Frederick County have many quaint and interesting places to visit. A walk down our lovely sidewalks past picturesque old commercial buildings and beautifully maintained homes reminds us of the rich traditions of our past.

There are wonderful restaurants, country inns, bed and breakfasts, and shops of all kinds here in both Winchester and Frederick County. There is a wealth of history to explore, including the Old Civil War Court House Museum, right near the concert site.
